Davis Global Center

The Dr. Edwin G. & Dorothy Balbach Davis Global Center is a highly advanced clinical simulation facility purposefully designed to foster the practice of patient care in highly-functioning and effective interprofessional teams. The 192,000 sq.ft. center is made up of five distinct levels that work together to create a safe and innovative learning environment.

iEXCEL at the University of Nebraska Medical Center used ShapesXR to speed up the design of immersive VR training tools like Skullbase VR. By prototyping directly in 3D, the team improved communication, reduced iteration time, and created more intuitive interfaces.

Davis Global Center: A Leader Through the Pandemic

Upon opening the Davis Global Center in January 2020, little did we know the world’s medical community would soon be at our doorstep. Just weeks later, the federal government officially activated the 20-Bed National Quarantine Unit managed by the Global Center for Health Security within our building.
